Sierra Leone Premier League club, Kamboi Eagles Football Club of Kenema has unveiled a new technical team following a shake-up in its coaching structure. The new technical is expected to help the club survive relegation in the ongoing Sierra Leone Premier League.
The restructuring comes in the wake of the exit of former Head Coach Alfred Pius (Oga), along with Ansumana Kallon (Kadda) and Eric Lungay, prompting swift action from the club’s management and board.
Now tasked with leading the revival is newly appointed Head Coach Ishmeal Kallon, who will work alongside Assistant Coaches Billoh Bah and Lahai Vandi. The technical bench also sees the addition of James Benjamin Sumaila as Set Piece Coach and Video Analyst, a role expected to enhance tactical organisation.
The new team was formally introduced to players during a training session at the Kenema City Field, where the focus was firmly placed on rebuilding confidence and improving results.
Speaking to the squad, Coach Kallon described his appointment as both an honour and a personal milestone, while acknowledging the responsibility ahead.
“I have supported Kamboi Eagles since childhood, and it is an honour to now lead this great club,” he said, pledging commitment to steering the team away from relegation and restoring competitiveness.
The club Vice Chairperson, Madam Victoria Bernard, reinforced the board’s trust in the newly assembled technical team, urging them to deliver results and meet the expectations of the club’s supporters.
With the season at a critical stage, Kamboi Eagles will be hoping the new leadership brings the spark needed to turn things around and reestablish pride in the Kenema-based side. The club is currently in 13th position with 21 points, 2 points above the drop zone.
