Sierra Leone’s forward Kei Kamara has  recorded his first goal for Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles with a header – just two minutes into the second half of the USL Championship.

Los Angeles secured their place in the Round of 32 in the US Open Cup by defeating Las Vegas Lights 3-1 at Cashman Field on Wednesday night at Cashman Field in Las Vegas .

A brace from Cristian Olivera and an opening tally from Kei Kamara paved the way for LAFC, while Shawn Smart scored for Vegas.

LAFC h signed forward Kei Kamara through the 2024 season with an option for 2025.

A 17-year MLS veteran, Kamara has enjoyed a prolific career that has seen him play for a record 11 different MLS teams, appear in 418 regular-season matches (328 starts, 30,191 minutes) and record 144 goals, the third-most in league history. He has scored the most goals among all active MLS players and is one of just 11 players in MLS history to have scored 100 goals.
