In preparation for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations which is scheduled to hold in January 2022 in Cameroon, Sierra Leone’s Head coach, John keister has called 33 home based players for training.
Sierra Leone recently qualified for the Total Africa Cup of Nations in a dramatic 1-0 win against Benin in it’s last qualifying match played in Guinea.
Just few days later, the Sierra Leone premier league was suspended due to rising cases of COVID-19 in the country with no date in sight for resumption.
Since the premier league is on hold, the training will help the home based players who will be on the list to represent the country in Cameroon next year remain fit and ready.
