On Wednesday, April 19th 2023, Lamboi Football Club secured their first victory in the second round of the league by defeating second-placed team Mighty Blackpool 2-1 at Lungi field.

Patrick K. Lebbie scored the first goal in the 30th minute, giving the hosts the lead, and four minutes into the second half, Ibrahim Kamara, the current top scorer, headed his tenth goal of the league to double the advantage to 2-0 in the 49th minute.

Winger Francis I. Kaloloh assisted both goals, Although skipper Ron Ghandi Williams scored a consolation goal in additional time (90+2), it was not enough for Mighty Blackpool Football Club to salvage a point.

They have now suffered three defeats in the league but remain in the second position with 45 points on the log, seven points behind Bo Rangers FC, who defeated FC Johansen 2-0 on the same day at the Bo mini stadium.

The 2-1 victory has lifted Lamboi FC to the 8th position in the 2022/23 Sierra Leone Premier League season with 25 points out of eighteen matches played.

It is noteworthy that this is the club’s first appearance in the country’s top-flight league after achieving promotion as champions of the 2022 National Playoffs.
