East End Lions defeated Freetonians SLIFA 2-0 in the Leone Premier League at the Approved School Grounds on Friday night.

The Killers recorded their second win of the 2024-25 campaign thanks to goals scored by Musa Bangura and Alie Conteh who both scored in the first-half of play.

Reacting to his first goal of this campaign, youngster Musa Bangura said he felt elated to record his name on the score sheet despite SLIFA being his former club.

“I’m really happy because this is my first goal for East End Lions this season,” the winger said. He added that he hoped to continue his fine form with hard and dedication.

The Killers head coach, Mohamed Lamin Kamara said the victory is an indication that the team is in the right direction this season but added that they should not let their guard down.

“It’s too early for me to be judged because the season has just started,” the coach said. He furthered that their intention is to put more pressure on the leaders of the table currently as they prepare to take on Freetown City FC next weekend.

Lions now sit on fourth place with eight points after four games.

Meanwhile SLIFA have suffered a back-to-back defeat for the first time this season after forfeiting their previous match against FC Kallon due to misconduct from Club CEO, Benjamin Gordon.
