The Leone Rock Premier League’s 2024/25 season is off to an electrifying start, with Wilberforce Strikers FC establishing themselves as the team to beat.
The Strikers sit comfortably at the top of the table, boasting a perfect record of three wins in three matches and an impressive +6 goal difference.
Bhantal FC and Old Edwardians FC are hot on their heels, also with 9 points each, but trail slightly due to their respective goal differences. Luawa FC and Abacha City FC complete the top five.
Meanwhile, last season’s giants, FC Kallon and Bo Rangers, are struggling to find their rhythm. Both teams have managed just one win in their opening three games and find themselves mid-table with 4 points each.
At the bottom of the table are Ports Authority FC, Kamboi Eagles FC, Bullom Stars FC, and Bai Bureh Warriors FC. All four teams are yet to secure a victory this season, with Ports Authority languishing at the foot of the table with a minus 4 goal difference.
In related news, the Premier League Board’s Disciplinary Committee on Wednesday awarded three points and two goals to FC Kallon following an incident during the game against Freetonian SLIFA on January 5, 2025.
According to the Premier League Board’s press release, the Emergency Disciplinary and Protests Committee found Mr. Benjamin Gordon, Technical Adviser for SLIFA, guilty of unsporting behavior.
The charges against Gordon include physical contact with an FC Kallon player and involvement in a brawl with the visiting team’s goalkeeper coach, actions that led to the premature end of the match.
