Abdul Karim Bangura, Team Manager of Sierra Leone’s national football team, the Leone Stars, has commenced the final phase of his professional development at the FIFA Campus – Essential Course for National-Team Managers in Rabat.
The 2026 edition of the programme, hosted in partnership with the International Centre for Sports Studies, marks a significant step in the professionalisation of football administration within the Sierra Leone Football Association.
Bangura arrived in the Moroccan capital after completing months of rigorous preparation, including a series of online modules and interactive virtual sessions designed to test participants’ foundational knowledge from across the globe.
The opening day of the in-person workshop transitioned from theory to practical engagement, featuring intensive seminars and collaborative sessions among participants.
The FIFA Campus initiative aims to equip national team managers with the technical and leadership skills required to compete at the highest level of international football. Through his participation, Bangura is gaining exposure to global best practices expected to be applied within the Leone Stars’ setup.
As the workshop progresses, sessions will focus on key areas such as crisis management, match-day logistics, and the psychological demands of managing a high-performance team environment.
This investment in leadership development underscores the SLFA’s commitment to strengthening its technical and administrative capacity, ensuring that backroom staff are equally prepared alongside players for future international competitions.
