East End Lions Chairman, Anthony Navo made an unannounced visit on Saturday, September 27, 202, to boost the boys’ morale ahead of tomorrow’s crucial encounter against US Monastir at the team’s camp in Sfax, Tunisia.
During his visit, Navo, expressed dissatisfaction with the team’s recent performance, stressing that the team’s display was unimpressive and below the expectations of the fans. Similarly, the Chairman urged the team to forego the initial result and focus on Sunday’s match, asserting that there are still ninety minutes to play.
“Fight for the club’s badge, and make Sierra Leone proud,” he stressed.

Speaking on behalf of the team, Head Coach, Mohamed Lamin, and skipper, Abdul Nyamekye, welcomed the chairman. They reflect on the team’s initial performance and said that they’ve realised their mistakes, which they have worked on. “Our name and pride are at stake, and in tomorrow’s match, we must defend them,” they concluded.
Chairman Navo reminded the team about the $50,000 match bonus if the team progressed into the second preliminary rounds, encouraging them that the money is still available in case they achieved the required result.
His visit was applauded by the camp, which described it as timely and important.
