Leone Stars’ celebrated goalkeeper, Mohamed N’balie Kamara has delivered an emotional farewell speech to Horoya Athletic Club as he prepares for new challenges ahead.
Kamara, who joined the Guinean club in 2022 on a two-year contract, expressed his gratitude and fond memories from his time with the team.
Kamara’s move to Horoya AC followed an impressive AFCON 2021 outing where He was named Man of the Match for Sierra Leone opening game against Algeria, showcasing his exceptional skills by thwarting Riyad Mahrez and his teammates.
His prowess was further highlighted in the match against Ivory Coast, where he made numerous saves, including a crucial penalty block against Franck Kessie, securing a 2-2 draw for Leone Stars.
Kamara began his career with Sierra Leonean side F.C. Johansen before spending three years at East End Lions. On May 22, 2022, Horoya AC announced Kamara’s signing, anticipating his contributions would be valuable for the team.
In his farewell message, Kamara reflected on his time with Horoya AC:
“The time has come for me to open a new chapter in my career. But before that, it is so important for me to say thank you to the great and beautiful family of Horoya.
“To the fans, players, managers, medical staff, board members, and everyone who has been with me during these last two seasons at this club—thank you. Together, we have created only good memories, celebrated great victories, and won memorable titles. From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much; I will never forget you.
“Of course, last but not least, I thank my family and friends who have always stood by my side in good and bad times. This past time hasn’t been easy for us and our family, but Alhamduallah for everything. Thank you, Allah, for everything.
“See you soon for new adventures on the pitch with Singida Black Stars in Tanzania 🇹🇿 and the Sierra Leone 🇸🇱 national team. Thank you, Ya Allah,” Kamara wrote.
Kamara moves on to join Singida Black Stars in Tanzania.
