Sierra Leone’s 19-year-old wonderkid, Momoh Kamara won the best player of the tournament award despite his side losing by 2-0 to Senegal in the WAFU A U20 tournament in Liberia on Saturday.

Kamara, who plays for Leixoes in the Liga Portugal 2, also won the joint top-scorer award with Cheikh Thiam after netting 3 times in four matches. The 19-year-old winger also collected four man of the match awards during the course of the tournament.

Some football fans said that Kamara’s skills helped carried the Shooting Stars to their first WAFU A U20 Final and AFCON U20 tournament which is scheduled for next year in Morocco.

Reacting to the news on social media, some football fans have called on Sierra Leone National Team coach, Amidu Karim to keep tabs on the youngster as they believe he could break into the senior team any time soon.
