FC Kallon head coach Charlie Wright has been awarded the Leone Rock Premier League Coach of the Month for February, marking his second such honour this season — the most by any coach so far.
Wright guided his side through an unbeaten run that yielded 10 points from a possible 12 across four matches, recording three wins and one draw. The stretch propelled FC Kallon up the league table, reinforcing the growing emphasis on managerial consistency as clubs compete for both sporting position and commercial visibility.
The award, announced on March 25, 2026, places Wright at the top of the league’s coaching honours for the season. No other coach has secured the monthly award twice so far.
Similarly, Abacha City FC captain Musa Sesay has been named the Leone Rock Premier League Player of the Month for February.
Sesay took home the prestigious Player of the Month award following a string of standout performances that highlighted his crucial role at Abacha City. Known for his intense focus, the team captain maintained his signature stoic demeanor during the award presentation, accepting the accolade without even a hint of a smile.
FC Kallon, formerly known as Sierra Fisheries, is one of Sierra Leone’s top clubs and plays its home games at the National Stadium in Freetown. The club was acquired by former Sierra Leonean international footballer Mohamed Kallon in 2002 and has since become a prominent force in the national league.
The Coach of the Month selection process mirrors that of the Player of the Month, combining expert analysis and fan participation, with fans accounting for 10 percent of the vote and an independent panel of football analysts holding 90 percent. Shortlisted managers are assessed on team results, tactical decisions, and their ability to overcome challenges such as injuries or difficult fixtures.
Wright’s achievement adds to a growing list of accolades in the 2026 Leone Rock Premier League season, following Bullom Stars’ Facinet Sylla who won the January Player of the Month award with four goals and two man-of-the-match honours
