The National Sports Authority (NSA) of Sierra Leone has suspended two of its staff members for engaging in an indecent act during working hours.

The NSA made the announcement in a statement released on Friday, November 10, 2023.

“The NSA would like to inform the sporting family and the public that two of its staff were involved in an indecorous act during working hours,” the statement said.

“In response to the unfortunate incident, the two were immediately suspended, and a committee set up to investigate the incident and then make necessary recommendations.”

The NSA added that it will not make any further comment on the matter until the committee concludes its investigation and submits its report.

Although the NSA did not mention the exact act committed by the staff, Sierraloaded learnt that two staff engaged in an open fight.

The suspension of the two NSA staff members has come as a shock to the sporting fraternity in Sierra Leone. Many have called for a thorough investigation into the matter and for the appropriate disciplinary action to be taken against those found to be culpable.

It remains to be seen what the outcome of the investigation will be, but the NSA’s swift action in suspending the two staff members is a clear indication that it takes such matters very seriously.
