Eighteen-year-old Arsenal forward Osman Kamara has expressed his joy after making his debut for Sierra Leone’s Under-20 team at the ongoing U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Osman Kamara earned his first call-up and appearance on Sierra Leone’s Independence Day, in a 0-0 draw against Zambia at the Suez Canal Stadium.
“Sierra Leone Independence Day is an important day for me and my family because it was the first time I played for Sierra Leone. I am really proud of playing for Sierra Leone,” Kamara stated.
The young forward also spoke positively about his integration into the squad. “My team is really welcoming. I trained with them, and training with them is a joy,” he explained.
Looking ahead to the remaining games, Kamara expressed optimism about the team’s chances. “With the way we are playing at the moment, I know we can go far in this tournament,” he said.
Osman Kamara believes his experience at Arsenal can benefit the team. “With my Arsenal experience, the way I play, I feel like I can bring the best out of them,” he added.
Osman Kamara shared these thoughts with Coach Mohamed L. Kamara and the rest of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations squad following his debut.
