Sierra Leone has been drawn into Group B of the upcoming WAFU U20 tournament, alongside Mauritania, Guinea, and Liberia.
The draw for the 2024 U20 Senegal Women’s Tournament was held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the headquarters of the Senegalese Football Federation.
In anticipation of the forthcoming West African Football Union (WAFU) U-20 Female Tournament in Senegal, the Sierra Leone U-20 Women’s National Team kicked off their training regimen on Monday, May 13th, 2024, with an inaugural session held at the SLFA Academy.
Under the guidance of Head Coach Fatmata Turay, the team embarked on their preparations with enthusiasm and determination. Coach Turay expressed her confidence in the squad’s potential to make a mark in the tournament, emphasizing their collective talent and commitment to excellence.
The selection process saw the identification of 20 promising players drawn from various clubs across Sierra Leone. These young athletes will form the backbone of the national team as they gear up to represent their country on the regional stage.
