Sierra Leone will host the Pharaohs of Egypt at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex Stadium in their second fixture on 19th November 2023 at Paynesville, Liberia.
The decision by the Sierra Leone Football Association to secure the SKD facility as hosting ground for Leone Stars came as a result of the ongoing rehabilitation of the Siaka Steven Stadium which is expected to be completed in April 2024.
Sierra Leone’s opening fixture against Ethiopia in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers is scheduled to take place on 15 November in Casablanca, Morocco.
The Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Stadium (frequently abbreviated SKD Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium which is part of the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville, Liberia a suburb of the country’s capital, Monrovia Built in 1986, it is used mostly for football matches and has an athletics track, though it has also been used for a reggae concert, political rallies, IDP refuge, and Ebola treatment.
