The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has appointed seven Referees Committee members on Tuesday, 7 February 2023.

The seven new appointees are inclusive of a new chairman and vice chairman.

According to a press release from the SLFA, Alhaji M.A. Sesay will serve as a Chairman while Dr. Patrick K. Muana will deputise him as Vice Chairman.

The Association also appointed Alhaji Dauda Williams, Suffianu Cole, Lansana Boima and Magret Korgi as members of the committee.

The seven appointed members will be responsible for the implementation of the laws of the game and shall appoint match officials in competitions organised by the SLFA.

They will also, together with the SLFA administration, be presiding over refereeing matters and monitor the education and training of referees.

The new appointment is made amidst several accusations by some premier league teams and fans of bad officiating from referees.

The SLFA, in a meeting with the Referees Association, promised to attend to complaints made by both premier league teams and Referees Association in January this year.
