The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has set a new date for its long-awaited Ordinary Congress, now scheduled for Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel in Aberdeen, Freetown.

This follows a legal dispute with Tamba G. Gbetuwa, Chairman of the Moyamba District Football Association, who had filed a case that previously delayed the event. Gbetuwa has now withdrawn his legal action, clearing the way for the Congress to take place.

As required by the SLFA Statute, the Congress will cover important issues, including adopting a new version of the SLFA Statute and discussing future steps for football development in Sierra Leone. The meeting is expected to play a key role in shaping the future of the sport in the country.

With the event now confirmed, attention turns to the race for SLFA president. Incumbent Thomas Daddy Brima is seeking another term, but Bo Rangers FC Chairman Babadi Kamara is expected to challenge him, making the Congress one to watch.
