The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has postponed it’s elective congress earlier scheduled to hold on February 27, 2021.

In a statement on Monday, the SLFA said the postponement was in connection with reviews and update correspondences from SLFA bodies involved in the electoral process and the National Sports Authority.

“We deem that it is absolutely essential that SLFA bodies involved in this process are given sufficient time to pass all relevant decisions, including any appeal that might be lodged by candidates as permitted by the SLFA electoral code, even if this means that the time frame leading to the elections has to be slightly amended”, a statement by Ibrahim Karama, SLFA’s Head of Media said.

The SLFA has faced public criticism following the disqualification of Sierra Leonean Football legend and Chairman of F.C Kallon from the final names of nominees for the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) elections after failing to be nominated before the nomination deadline.
