Thomas Daddy Brima, the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), is ecstatic to announce Sierra Leone’s participation in the FIFA Connect program. As a member association of FIFA, Sierra Leone will join the global initiative aimed at revolutionizing the management of football stakeholders through advanced digitalization.
“The FIFA Connect online system is designed to help member associations register all their stakeholders, including players, coaches, and referees, regardless of their location,” Brima stated. He emphasized that the program provides a unique identity code for every individual involved in the football ecosystem. This unique identity code will enable the SLFA to manage competitions digitally and maintain comprehensive records of all participants.
The implementation of the FIFA Connect program marks a significant milestone for Sierra Leone’s football community. The SLFA’s Competition Department has already begun training the 18 Premier League Clubs on how to use the new system effectively. This training initiative will soon extend to the five Regional Associations and 16 Districts across the country.
“This modernized registration system represents the biggest reform in Sierra Leone’s football,” Brima declared. “It will streamline operations, ensure accurate data management, and enhance the overall governance of the sport.”
The FIFA Connect program’s benefits are manifold. It will not only facilitate seamless registration processes but also enhance transparency and accountability within the football community. The comprehensive digital records will help in monitoring player development, tracking transfers, and managing disciplinary actions more efficiently. Furthermore, it will provide invaluable data for strategizing the growth and development of football in Sierra Leone.
The SLFA’s proactive approach in adopting the FIFA Connect program underscores its commitment to advancing the sport in Sierra Leone. This move is expected to bring about a new era of professionalism and efficiency in football administration within the country.
