The Sierra Leone Football Association President Thomas Daddy Brima has revealed that they are planning to recall Kei Kamara , from International retirement to join Sierra Leone Football National Team. 

He made the statement  today 4th September, 2024 In a radio discussion looks into the Leone Stars 2025 Afcon Campaign and  Preparation towards Chad and Zambia AFCON Matches.

Considering the striker current Performance in the MLS, the FA President described the  forward as a super striker but confirm that his return will require proper planning .

The Veteran striker Kamara, announced his retirement from Leone Stars  after the Africa Cup of Nations in 2022, having scored seven goals in 38 appearances for the West African country.

The striker  scored the goal against Benin which saw the side qualify for the Nations Cup for the first time since 1996.

That elation was in stark contrast to the moment he missed an 85th-minute penalty in what proved to be his final game in January, a group match against the Equatoguineans.

Sierra Leone were trailing 1-0 and had Kamara scored, it would almost likely have secured the draw which would have seen them advance to the last 16 of the tournament. The incident led to police having to protect his house in Freetown from angry fans.

The 40-year-old has scored 3 goals in 18 matches so far for Los Angeles FC in the MLS 2024 season.
