After the match between East End Tigers and Diamond Stars FC dated 12th February 2023; the Centre Referee, Saidu Matthew Kamara, filed a report dated 13th February 2023, which indicated that the Secretary-General and the Goalkeeping Coach of Diamond Stars FC frequently attacked the Assistant Referee 1during the match.
The report stated that there was too much use of abusive language by the Match Officials by the spectators of both teams.
Meanwhile, due to persistent attacks on the Match Officials, a Red Card was shown to Comfort Nyukeh, the Secretary General of Diamond Stars FC for refusing to leave the Tecnical Area.
Another Red Card was shown to Musa Jalloh, East End Tigers Head Coach, for frequent breaking into the field from his Technical Area. The Goalkeeper Coach of Diamond Stars FC also received a Yellow Card for continuously challenging the decision of the Assistant Referee.
The conduct however attributed to both the Secretary-General and Goalkeeping Coach of Diamond Stars FC. The report states that both teams violated Article 46.1 and also attracts the punishment cited under Article 38.1 of the Rules and Regulations for having been given red cards.
The use of abusive language by supporters of both teams also violates Article 46.1 of the Rules. The conduct of the club officials of both Diamond Stars FC and East End Tigers FC does not conform to acceptable standards of behaviour expected from such very senior officials.
The Committee, therefore fined the Secretary-General and the Goalkeeping Coach of Diamond Stars FC culpable of misconduct against match officials.
Due to the misconduct of unknown supporters of Diamond Stars FC, the Club was also found culpable, under Articles 34.3 and 40 respectively. SANCTION/PUNISHMENT
Due to such behaviour, especially from very senior club officials and by way of setting examples at the top, the Secretary General of Diamond Stars FC was given four (4) match bans from the Technical Area with immediate effect and fined a sum of NLe 2,000.
The Goalkeeping Coach of Diamond Stars FC also had four (4) match bans from the Technical Area with immediate effect and was in a sum of NLe 2,000.
Diamond Stars FC was also fined the sum of NLe 4,000.
