The Sierra Leone National Under-17 Women’s Team has departed Freetown today, Thursday, May 21, 2026, via Guinea-Conakry en route to Togo ahead of their crucial second-round double-legged fixtures against Benin in the 2026 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
The delegation, representing the Sierra Leone National U17 Women’s Team, is led by Head Coach Fatmata Turay. The team travels with renewed optimism and determination as they continue their pursuit of a historic qualification to the global tournament scheduled to be staged in Morocco.
The first leg of the encounter against Benin is set for Monday, May 25, 2026, while the return leg will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026. Both matches will be played at the Stade de Kegue in Lomé, Togo.
The winner of the tie will progress to the third and final qualifying round, where they will face the victor between Nigeria and Guinea. The ultimate prize is a coveted slot at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
