The intervarsity  football tournament will be kicking off today with the University of Sierra Leone facing Limkokwing University  at the Sierra Leone Football Association academy in Kingtom, Freetown.

In recent times, The Minister of Tertiary Education, Professor Alpha Tejan Wurie has held  strategic meeting with the Sierra Leone Football  Association President, Thomas Daddy Brima in Kingtom ahead of Intervarsity tournament.

The meeting is scheduled  to map out plans ahead of the Commencement of the Sierra Leone “intervarsity Football Tournament”.

Organisation and Coordination of Intervarsity Sports Championships is one of the vital functions of the Ministry of Tertiary Education which is accomplished in close collaboration with the Universities and colleges in Sierra Leone.　Intervarsity competitions are organised with an effort to provide openings for social contact and understanding among the student players (men & women) of the universities of Sierra Leone.

Venue: Bo City
Time: 4:30 PM

The objective of such competitions is to attract the student’s community towards sports & other healthy activities so that students can be provided a chance to take part in physical activities during their student life. This will also serve as a nursery for players for different sports for national teams.

All the Universities (Public & Private) & Degree Awarding Institutes recognised by Ministry of Tertiary education have equal right to participate in Intervarsity Sports Championships organized over a period of one months.
