Following the reactions and doubts to reasons why Musa Tombo was dropped from the 23 man Squard ahead of clash with Cape Verde, Sierra Leone National Homebased technical head coach Francis Zappa Koroma has reacted disclosing the reasons to his decision.
Sierra Leone which will be locking horns with Cape Verde on Sunday 24th July 2022, at the Grand Stade in Marrakesh, Western Morocco, has been training rain and shine to ensure that the glory of Sierra Leone is attained. While these trainings were ongoing, according to coach Zappa, Musa Noah Kamara popularly known as Musa Tombo wasn’t in any of them.
Principles and laws keep the stability of any function in our society. For the progress of any football club, keeping and prioritizing the law is key. This is because when the law is favoured to some, others might try to follow the footsteps of others in the same bad way hoping they could be pardoned like the previous.
Clarifying doubts over his actions as a coach, Zappa said they have been in the camp for 2 consecutive months with intensive training, rain and shine in preparation to honour the invitation without Musa attending. “We have been in camp for about 2 months, in the rain and sun without him….” Zappa mentioned.
He added that it didn’t just sound unfair and unprofessional if Musa was included in the Squard but will also bring negative impacts to the team. “It will bring a negative impact if Musa is included in the squad” he continued.
Assuring fans of Musa replacement, coach Zappa disclosed that Musa has already been replaced and they have already a a team that is prepared to represent Sierra Leone Internationally without Musa.
On a press conference this morning, these were the exact words of coach Zappa:
“Unfortunately, Musa is not with us. It’s a decision that I have made and I stand by that decision. No one is bigger than Sierra Leone. We have complied and honoured our invitations under difficult times. We have been in camp for about 2 months, in the rain and sun without him. It will bring a negative impact if Musa is included in the squad. He has been replaced by another player. We now have a team that is prepared to represent Sierra Leone.”
