The ex-international Leone Stars player who also captained the East End Lions FC squad that clinched the 2018/19 league season unbeaten and presently Head Coach of the soon-to-be-renamed Central Parade to Wilberforce Football Club Julius Gibrilla Wobay has assured supporters of the club of a quick bounce after failing to record a win in the last five matches.
Wobay’s side yesterday held the in-form Diamond Stars Football Club to a one-all draw at home and while they currently occupy the fourteenth (14th) position in the log with five points securing one win, two draws and three defeats.
According to NewsFeed Sierra Leone Julius Gibrilla Wobay disclosed that he only had five weeks to bring together his current squad comprised of young players scouted from different communities in Freetown and therefore takes full responsibility for the slow start “I’m the head here and whatever that goes wrong I take full responsibility, I will not blame neither my players nor anybody, we just have to accept the result and go to the drawing board to quickly address where it is getting wrong” he asserted.
He however stresses the need for a quick bounce back noting “We can’t continue like this, because it is worrisome and we are trying to pick up from there to ensure a bounce back as quickly as possible, I’m in a learning process and serving as a head coach in the league is a big challenge for me but at the same time, I believe that I can do it because it is something I will render all my heart and it is a new challenge for me after my football career” he concluded.
