Sierra Leone’s Chief Innovator and Chief Minister, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, has announced that TikTok monetisation is now available in the country.
The announcement was made during the Day 3 of the Sierra Leone Innovates Digital Summit 2025, which attracted a diverse audience of stakeholders, innovators, digital experts, students, diplomats, and investors.
Dr. Sengeh asserted that TikTok has introduced approximately six monetisation programs, with three currently accessible to Sierra Leonean content creators.
Those programs are designed to empower local creators by providing them with opportunities to earn money through their activities on the platform.
The announcement generated enthusiasm among attendees of the summit, who see it as a stepping stone towards fostering innovation and economic growth in the region.
