A young Sierra Leonean innovator Abu Gibrilla Conteh, is set to unveil an AI Robot built under the Chief Minister, David Sengeh’s Radical Inclusion AI Network of Robots (RAINBOTS).
Sengeh, in a Facebook post, said Conteh is making waves in the world of robotics with the creation of an AI-powered robot that challenges conventional stereotypes about ability and inclusion.
Conteh qualifies as a painter, sculptor, engineer, and robotics enthusiast, preparing to unveil a groundbreaking project under the banner of the Radical Inclusion AI Network of Robots (RAINBOTS)—a series of robotic innovations built on the principle of radical inclusion. His latest creation: a double amputee robot that uses a wheelchair, designed to reflect the full spectrum of human experience and capability.
Conteh’s journey is as compelling as his invention. Once a school dropout, he walked into the office of the then Minister of Education, who was moved by his boldness and potential. With support, he was enrolled at Milton Margai University of Science and Technology, where he has thrived as a student and innovator.
The robot’s debut this week is already drawing international attention. Hugh Herr, a globally acclaimed biomechatronics engineer at MIT, described Abu as “super talented” after reviewing his work. The endorsement hints at a bright future for the young creator, possibly even a place at one of the world’s top tech institutions.
“This is what radical inclusion looks like,” Sengeh said. “It’s about giving every individual, regardless of background, a real chance to reach their fullest potential.”
The Chief Minister identified Abu’s story as a powerful example of why President Julius Maada Bio’s investment in human capital is the most profound gift to our nation’s future.
As Sierra Leone continues to invest in talent and innovation, Conteh’s RAINBOT stands as a symbol of hope, inclusion, and the limitless possibilities of empowered youth.
Keep on the Good work brother. You’re really making progress 👏
We appreciates you bro…don’t relent pls
That’s amazing! These are the kinds of people who need help.
But soon, sierra leoneans will put political issues in his creativity.
Since it has to deal with radical inclusion being connected with Chief minister.
