The Julius Maada Bio Leadership Colloquium, held at the Bintumani Conference Centre, showcased the attendance of former Nigerian Vice President, His Excellency Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who delivered a commendatory speech in honor of President Dr. Julius Maada Bio’s leadership on his 61st birthday.

In his address, Professor Osinbajo praised President Bio’s commitment to human capital development, particularly through the Free Quality Education Programme. He described the initiative as a cornerstone of democratic governance, emphasizing its role in ensuring access and equity in education. “The only true guarantee of democracy is to deliver meaningful development to the majority,” he stated.

Osinbajo also highlighted the significance of the Gender Empowerment Act and the 30% quota for women’s representation in governance, calling those measures vital for advancing gender equality in Sierra Leone. He termed them “game-changing decisions that will shape the future of Sierra Leone.”

Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh welcomed Osinbajo warmly, expressing honor in hosting such a prominent figure and reinforcing the value of President Bio’s leadership style. Jalloh noted that Bio’s dedication to human capital development has positively impacted many Sierra Leoneans, especially the youth.

In his keynote address, President Bio reflected on his personal journey and the importance of trust in leadership. He acknowledged Osinbajo’s presence as an honor and expressed gratitude for the recognition of his administration’s efforts.

The colloquium concluded with calls for unity and a collective commitment to people-centred development, further highlighting President Bio’s vision for Sierra Leone’s future.
