After a period of significant speculation and several delays, Sierra Leonean striker Musa Noah Kamara, widely known as Musa Tombo, has officially departed Sierra Leone to finalize his transfer to a club in Tunisia. He was accompanied by his fiancée, Memzo.
The 25-year-old forward, renowned for his dynamic play and prolific goal-scoring, is expected to sign a three-year contract with a top-tier Tunisian side.
This move follows a series of international and domestic successes for Kamara, who was the top scorer in the Sierra Leone Premier League and a key player for both Bo Rangers and East End Lions.
Kamara’s departure brings an end to weeks of uncertainty surrounding his transfer. Earlier reports indicated he had gone missing and failed to board a flight to Tunisia, where he was expected to join Club Sportif Sfaxien (CSS).
Concerns for his whereabouts intensified on social media after a screenshot, purportedly from his WhatsApp status, circulated. In the message, Kamara appealed for prayers from both Muslim and Christian communities in Sierra Leone, citing “spiritual attacks.”
A source close to the player confirmed at the time that Kamara was “untraceable and missing.” Subsequently, a message attributed to his partner surfaced online, apologizing to Club Sportif Sfaxien for his absence. The message stated that Kamara was emotionally overwhelmed due to the recent passing of his father and promised his arrival in Tunisia within a week.
This incident marked the third time the footballer had either gone missing or failed to travel abroad after signing an international deal, leading to mixed reactions among fans and football observers.
Discussions have ranged from possible mental health or spiritual challenges to calls for professional intervention to support the talented but controversial striker.
Club Sportif Sfaxien has not yet issued an official statement regarding Kamara’s previous absences.
Despite the controversies surrounding his off-field conduct, Kamara has consistently delivered strong performances on the pitch, particularly for the national team, which has earned him a dedicated fan base.
