A man identified as Senesie has been arrested by the Central Youths Taskforce during an evening operation in the Central Community.

He was reportedly caught with several wraps of kush, which authorities believe were being prepared for street-level distribution. After his arrest, he was taken into custody and handed over to the Tankoro Police Division in Koidu City, where he is now being held as investigations continue.

The arrest comes as part of ongoing operations under the newly launched End Kush Campaign, a five-month initiative led by the Central Youth Organization. The campaign is focused on stopping the sale and use of kush in the Central Community and other parts of Koidu City.

Earlier this month, on July 10, 2025, the Central Youth Organization issued an official public warning to all individuals involved in the sale of kush in the area. The notice gave dealers a ten-day deadline to stop their activities. That deadline expired on July 21, 2025.

In the letter, the group stated that anyone found selling kush after the deadline would be peacefully arrested by the Central Youths Taskforce and handed over to the police.

The Central Youth Organization said it will work with community leaders and local security to carry out the campaign and enforce the rules in Central Community.

This move is part of growing efforts by local youths to tackle drug use and sales in their neighborhoods. Community members have been raising concerns over the rising use of kush among young people, which they say is affecting schools, families, and the future of the district.

The arrest of Senesie has been received positively by residents, who are now calling on authorities to take legal action. Many say they support continued efforts to rid the community of kush dealers and create safer spaces for young people.

As the End Kush Campaign continues in the months ahead, more actions and arrests are expected as part of the youth-led push to reduce kush distribution and usage in Koidu.
