The Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) has announced that it will soon begin printing securitized driver’s licenses for Sierra Leoneans, following the recent suspension of license issuance.
Confirming the development in a public update, SLRSA Executive Director James Bio said the move reflects the authority’s commitment to enhancing the quality and security of its products. He explained that the new licenses will include advanced securitized features designed to prevent tampering and reduce fraud.
“Over the years, we have experienced instances where licenses and other products were compromised by fraudsters. We have gone through a rigorous process to ensure that our systems are now well protected,” Mr. Bio stated.
On the decentralization of services, the Executive Director revealed that the authority has put modalities in place to make SLRSA services accessible across the country. According to him, this measure will ease the burden on clients and significantly reduce waiting times.
Mr. Bio also advised the public to visit official SLRSA outlets for services rather than relying on intermediaries, stressing that the authority remains committed to transparency and efficiency in service delivery.

I paid for a driver’s license in July 2025 and I still have not received it. What date is going to be the of issue?
