The Local Unit Commander (LUC) of the Pujehun Police Division, Superintendent Mustapha A. Senesie, has reported a significant reduction in crime rates and a renewed sense of calm across the division, crediting the achievement to a collaborative and proactive approach to policing introduced since his appointment three months ago.

Superintendent Senesie explained that the positive turnaround is the result of several key initiatives, including the reactivation of night patrols, the establishment of mobile checkpoints, increased foot patrols, and intensified community sensitization on crime prevention and public safety.

“Since I took over, my focus has been to ensure that our officers are visible and engaged with the community,” said LUC Senesie. “Visibility builds trust and deters criminal activity.”

Night patrols, he noted, have been instrumental in curbing crimes that typically occur after dark. Residents have expressed appreciation for the increased police presence during late hours, saying it has helped them feel more secure.

The introduction of mobile checkpoints has also contributed to better monitoring and control of criminal activity in strategic areas within Pujehun town and its surrounding communities.

Superintendent Senesie further highlighted the vital role of community involvement in sustaining peace and security. Through ongoing sensitization programs, residents have been equipped with practical safety tips and encouraged to report suspicious behavior—fostering a more vigilant and cooperative environment.

Local feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Many community members have praised the Pujehun Police Division for its renewed commitment to public safety and its efforts to restore peace and order.

As Superintendent Senesie continues to strengthen community-police relations, the Pujehun Division stands as a growing example of how collaborative policing can create safer, more resilient communities.
