A joint police operation on Wednesday morning led to the arrest of four suspects and the seizure of a quantity of suspected Kush during a targeted raid at a well-known drug hideout in Calabatown, Freetown.
The operation, conducted at Gravel Ground, Lower Sunday Street, was a coordinated effort between the Regional Operations and Kissy Operations Teams. It followed credible intelligence reports indicating that the area had become a hotspot for drug trafficking and abuse.
Led by Superintendent John S. Koroma, officers stormed the location in the early hours, dismantling several makeshift structures believed to have been used as drug dens. Police sources confirmed that the four suspects are now in custody, assisting investigators in identifying their suppliers and uncovering the broader network behind the illegal trade.
Authorities say the raid is part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal drug activity across the Freetown-East region a key initiative under the Regional Commander’s intensified campaign to curb the spread of Kush and other harmful substances that continue to devastate communities.
Police have reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining such operations and urged the public to provide timely information that could aid in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking.
