Sierra Leone’s young talent, Sallieu Bah, 19, is set for a major move to a top Scandinavian club in Eastern Europe, his current club, Wilberforce Strikers, confirmed.

The transfer is understood to be nearing completion, following the agreement of a preliminary deal.

​The move marks a major step in the young player’s burgeoning career, propelling him from the domestic league to European football. Bah has quickly established himself as one of Sierra Leone’s most promising young talents, lauded for his “calm presence on the ball, maturity beyond his age, and solid experience” in the domestic league.

The young winger was a prominent member of the Sierra Leone U-20 team that took part in the 2024 AFCON U-20 tournament in Egypt. The youngster has also represented the Leone Stars, the Sierra Leone National Team in both FIFA and AFCON Qualifiers.

​The Scandinavian club has reportedly identified Bah as a key acquisition to strengthen their project, expecting him to inject immediate quality into their squad. This transfer follows previous international attention on Bah, who The Guardian featured as one of the world’s best young talents born in 2006.

​The 19-year-old attacking midfielder’s journey has already included stints in Europe, having played for Romanian side Petrolul 95 Ploieşti, where he scored an impressive 15 goals in 14 matches, according to reports. He also had a trial in Germany with an academy.
