Stakeholders from government, the diplomatic community, the private sector and industry partners on Tuesday honoured the outgoing Chief Executive Officer of Orange Sierra Leone, Mr. Sekou Amadou Bah, and formally welcomed the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, Madam Aïcha Touré, at a farewell cocktail held at the Country Lodge Hotel in Freetown.

The event, hosted by Orange Sierra Leone, brought together senior government officials, regulators, ministers, diplomats, business leaders and partners to mark the end of Mr. Bah’s tenure and to acknowledge his contribution to the company and the country over nearly four years in office.

Speakers at the ceremony commended Mr. Bah for providing steady leadership that delivered strong business growth, expanded network coverage across the country and strengthened public-private partnerships. Several speakers said his leadership helped position Orange Sierra Leone as a trusted partner in national development.

Stakeholders also highlighted what they described as Mr. Bah’s people-centred leadership style, noting that his approach was grounded in empathy, discipline, humility, accountability and collaboration. Regulators and partners praised his inclusive leadership and said his tenure saw meaningful contributions to financial inclusion, digital innovation, healthcare, education and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

In his farewell address, Mr. Bah described his time at Orange Sierra Leone as “a story of purpose, progress, and partnership.” He said his focus throughout his tenure was on building a sustainable and lasting legacy for the company and the people it serves.

Mr. Bah expressed appreciation to Orange Sierra Leone staff, business partners, competitors and his family for their support during his leadership. Reflecting on his time with the company, he told the audience, “I came as a CEO, but I leave as a brother.”

The event also marked the introduction of the incoming Chief Executive Officer, Madam Aïcha Touré, who addressed stakeholders at the close of the ceremony. She pledged to build on the foundation laid by her predecessor and to strengthen collaboration with government, regulators and partners.

Madam Touré said her leadership would focus on driving technological development and advancing digital inclusion across Sierra Leone, while continuing to position Orange Sierra Leone as a key contributor to national development.

Orange Sierra Leone said the farewell cocktail was organized to recognize Mr. Bah’s service and to reaffirm the company’s commitment to partnership, innovation and inclusive growth under its new leadership.
