Sierra Leone’s First Lady, Fatima Bio, has reaffirmed her commitment to religious solidarity and national unity following the distribution of Ramadan food items to mosques across Kailahun District.
In a statement issued after the exercise, the First Lady disclosed that the JMB Wing, representing herself and President Julius Maada Bio, carried out the annual initiative as part of their continued support to the Muslim community during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
According to her, the gesture is a cherished tradition that is faithfully upheld each year in solidarity with Muslims observing the sacred period of fasting and prayer.
“Ramadan is a sacred season of sacrifice, reflection, generosity, and compassion,” she stated, noting that the distribution was aimed at supporting families and keeping alive the spirit of sharing within communities.
The First Lady emphasized that the initiative reflects their unwavering dedication to interfaith harmony, national unity, and service to humanity. She described Sierra Leone’s diversity as a source of strength, stressing that mutual respect and collective responsibility remain essential to building a nation grounded in love and understanding.
She further expressed hope that the Holy Month would bring renewed peace, deeper faith, and spiritual growth to Muslim families across the country. She prayed that Allah accepts the supplications of the faithful, strengthens national bonds, and guides Sierra Leone toward continued unity and prosperity.
The annual Ramadan outreach forms part of ongoing efforts by the First Family to promote social cohesion and inclusive national development.
