The Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) is set to move into a modern administrative complex on Bai Bureh Road as construction reaches 96% completion. Final finishing works are underway across the site, bringing to life a purpose-built office environment designed to support efficient operations and improve staff welfare.
The new complex features spacious offices, multiple conference rooms, and advanced ICT infrastructure intended to support digital workflows and secure communications. Interior fit-out works focus on ergonomic layouts, contemporary finishes, and integrated technology that will enable paperless processes and better coordination across departments.
The building’s layout prioritizes collaboration and functionality, featuring dedicated meeting spaces for stakeholder engagement and training, as well as office zones configured to support both individual work and team-based projects. Final touches include the installation of ICT systems, interior furnishings, and the commissioning of building services.
Completion of the administrative building is expected to strengthen the SLRA’s capacity to plan, manage, and deliver road-sector projects. Improved office facilities and upgraded communications infrastructure will support faster decision-making, more effective project oversight, and enhanced service delivery to the public.
The modern workspace is also expected to contribute to staff productivity and morale by providing a safer, more comfortable, and better-equipped environment for day-to-day operations.
Located on Bai Bureh Road, the new headquarters signals a continued investment in institutional infrastructure in Freetown. The facility is positioned to serve as a central hub for coordination with contractors, government partners, and development stakeholders involved in Sierra Leone’s road and transport programmes.
With construction at 96%, the remaining work includes final system testing, quality inspections, and handover procedures. Once these steps are complete, the SLRA will proceed with commissioning and staff relocation to the new premises, followed by formal opening arrangements.
