Structural engineers from the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone have conducted a detailed site inspection of the ongoing construction of its North West Regional Office in Port Loko.
The inspection centered on assessing critical structural components, with particular attention to floor reinforcement and rod placement, to ensure compliance with approved engineering designs. The exercise forms part of the Commission’s quality assurance efforts aimed at guaranteeing the safety, durability, and long-term functionality of the facility.
According to officials, the project is progressing steadily, with engineers closely monitoring construction standards at each phase.
Once completed, the Port Loko office will become the third fully owned regional facility of the ECSL, following similar developments in Bo and Kenema over the past five years. The expansion reflects the Commission’s broader strategy to strengthen its institutional presence and operational capacity across the country.
The initiative is expected to enhance electoral management efficiency in the North West Region, particularly as Sierra Leone continues to prioritize credible and well-administered electoral processes.
