The leadership of New Harvest Global Ministries has issued a strong public disclaimer, categorically denying any affiliation with a man recently declared wanted by the Sierra Leone Police.
An official police wanted notice recently identified a suspect, Rashid David Rogers, as a pastor attached to the ministry’s Monkey Bush branch in Waterloo. Rogers is currently being sought by authorities in connection with an alleged case of fraudulent conversion.
However, the church has moved swiftly to clear its name. In a public statement, the church’s Western Area District Team Lead, Reverend Joseph Abraham Lahai, clarified that Rogers is not a pastor within their organization, describing the police description as misleading and entirely untrue.
Reverend Lahai expressed concern that the circulation of the police notice was damaging the ministry’s reputation and undermining its long-standing religious, social, and humanitarian contributions in Sierra Leone.
“While we strongly and unequivocally condemn the act for which he is alleged to be wanted, the claim that he is a pastor of New Harvest Global Ministries unfairly attacks the good name and reputation of our ministry,” Reverend Lahai stated. “We therefore wish to make the necessary correction.”
The Team Lead confirmed that the church has already engaged the relevant leadership and authorities to present the facts and correct the record. He also urged media practitioners and the general public to verify information before sharing it online to prevent the further spread of false associations, reaffirming the ministry’s strict commitment to integrity and accountability.
Despite the mistaken organizational affiliation, the police manhunt for Rogers remains active.
The Sierra Leone Police continue to seek the suspect, noted as a former resident of Campbell Town in Waterloo, for the alleged fraud. To aid in his capture, authorities have announced a reward for any information that successfully leads to his arrest.
The police are actively appealing to the public for assistance. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Rashid David Rogers is urged to:
Report to the CID Freetown-East Regional Headquarters at Ross Road.

The ministry should have sued the police for defamation of character and the minister’s image. Therefore, a thorough investigation by the police should have been conducted before making such accusations.
