Political commentator and All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant, Dr. Sylvia Olayinka Blyden, has levelled serious allegations against senior government officials, claiming that a document used in a High Court matter was “fraudulently presented” to the Superior Court of Judicature in Sierra Leone.
In a strongly worded statement shared publicly, Dr. Blyden alleged that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alhaji Timothy Musa Kabba, the Solicitor General, Robert Baoma Kowa, and the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Alpha Sesay, were involved in what she described as the use of a fraudulent certificate in court proceedings.
She claimed the document in question was used in a manner that she considers deceptive and intended to undermine her interests as a Sierra Leonean citizen, describing the development as a “serious threat” to public trust in the justice system.
Dr. Blyden further argued that if such conduct by high-ranking officials goes unchallenged, it could set a dangerous precedent affecting ordinary citizens, including vulnerable groups. She warned that the alleged incident should not be treated lightly, insisting it raises broader concerns about accountability and the integrity of state institutions.
She called on Members of Parliament from both the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and the opposition APC, as well as parliamentary leadership, to urgently investigate the matter. She specifically urged the leadership of the House and the Foreign Affairs Committee to take up the issue for scrutiny.
According to her statement, the matter goes beyond her personal grievance and should be viewed as a national concern requiring legislative oversight.
Dr. Blyden also indicated that she intends to engage the media further on the allegations, suggesting that additional details and supporting documents will be made public in due course.
