The International Cricket Council (ICC) has conducted an anti-corruption and anti-doping briefing for Team Sierra Leone ahead of their opening match against hosts Botswana in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Sub-Regional Qualifier in Gaborone.

The session focused on educating players and officials on how to identify and avoid corruption-related approaches, particularly those linked to online cricket betting. Team members were strongly advised to reject any such contact and report any incidents promptly to the relevant authorities.

Officials reinforced a zero-tolerance policy on bribery, warning players against accepting any form of inducement under any circumstances. The briefing also highlighted the risks associated with performance-enhancing drugs and other prohibited substances, stressing both health risks and potential disciplinary sanctions.

Meanwhile, Sierra Leone enters the ten-day tournament with hopes of securing one of the two available qualification spots. The team aims to build on renewed unity and determination as they begin their campaign against Botswana on Saturday.
