Sahid Kargbo, a student accused of forging a West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) result, has been granted bail by Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown.

Kargbo faces three charges: conspiracy to defraud, forgery, and altering a forged document, under the Forgery Act of 1913.

The prosecution alleges that on Tuesday, 12th May 2026, at the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, Connaught Campus in Freetown, Kargbo conspired with unknown persons to defraud the institution.

He is also accused of forging a WAEC result certificate with candidate number 7021003204, claiming it was issued by WAEC, and later altering the document knowing it to be fake.

When the charges were read, no plea was taken as the matter is a committal proceeding.

Prosecutor DPC Brima Kargbo told the court he had served the accused with a copy of the case and inquiry file.

Magistrate Jah granted bail in the sum of five hundred thousand Leones, with two sureties of the same amount. The sureties must be Sierra Leonean residents living in Freetown, with at least one employed or able to provide proof of business from a reputable organisation. Both must produce valid identification.

The matter has been adjourned to 6th July 2026.
