Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Alpha Sesay, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, convened a high-level meeting with the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion (ICPNC), the National Moral Guarantors of the Agreement for National Unity, and representatives of the All People’s Congress (APC) to assess progress in implementing the electoral reform recommendations of the Tripartite Committee.

The meeting reviewed the status of reforms that have already been implemented, examined updates on those still in progress, and reached agreement on a clear roadmap to guide the completion of the remaining reform measures.

According to the Justice Minister, the engagement formed part of ongoing efforts to ensure the effective implementation of the Tripartite Committee’s recommendations through sustained dialogue and cooperation among key national stakeholders.

Discussions also reaffirmed a collective commitment to strengthening Sierra Leone’s democratic institutions by advancing governance and electoral reforms anchored on consensus, inclusivity, and the national interest.

The meeting brought together the ICPNC, the National Moral Guarantors of the Agreement for National Unity, and APC representatives, reflected continued collaboration among stakeholders in supporting the country’s democratic reform process.

The Tripartite Committee was established to make recommendations aimed at enhancing Sierra Leone’s electoral and governance systems, with implementation of its proposals remaining a key component of the Agreement for National Unity.
