A group of workers engaged under the ‘Doti Mus Go’ project have reportedly accused the Freetown City Council (FCC) of failing to pay their agreed wages, claiming they have been left without salaries after the project was halted shortly after it began.
According to the workers, the six-month initiative commenced in November 2025, but operations reportedly came to an abrupt stop after just one month. They alleged that no official explanation was provided by the relevant authorities regarding the suspension of the project.
The aggrieved workers further claimed that although they completed the initial phase of the assignment, they have not received the payments they believe they are owed under the terms of their engagement. They also alleged that funds intended for workers’ salaries were mismanaged, an accusation that has not been independently verified.
The workers are now calling on the appropriate government oversight and investigative authorities to examine the handling of the project’s finances. They are also demanding payment of what they describe as their outstanding salaries for the remaining five months covered by their contractual agreement.
As of the time of publication, the Freetown City Council had not publicly responded to the allegations. The claims remain unverified, and any official response from the Council or relevant authorities will be reported when available.
