His Excellency Ambassador Sadiq Silla of Sierra Leone reaffirmed and strengthened the bilateral relations between Sierra Leone and Egypt.
On Wednesday, October 11, 2023, Ambassador Sadiq Silla was received by Major General Mohamed Al-Miniawy, the head of the National Organization for Military Production (NSPO), a key Egyptian institution responsible for military and civilian manufacturing and contracting services.
The discussions between the two officials centered on the enhancement of ties between their respective countries and the activation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that had been signed earlier. General Al-Miniawy expressed Egypt’s pride in the longstanding and growing relationship between Egypt and Sierra Leone.
Following this meeting, on Thursday, October 12, 2023, Ambassador Sadiq Silla also met with General Islam Attia Rayan, the Chairman of the National Company for Fisheries and Aquaculture, an institution founded in 2015 to provide fishery support and products to the people of Egypt.
During these discussions, Ambassador Silla conveyed a message from the Deputy Minister of Defence of Sierra Leone, expressing the country’s deep appreciation for its relations with Egypt. He further emphasized Sierra Leone’s keen interest in expanding bilateral cooperation, leveraging Egypt’s expertise in agriculture, fisheries, and other major projects.
The meetings also touched on specific areas of need and inquiries, with a commitment to pursuing cooperation and support for various projects. Both parties expressed optimism for the practicalization of their agreements, emphasizing the potential for mutual benefit and collaboration in the future.
Ambassador Sadiq Silla’s visit underscores the commitment of Sierra Leone to strengthening diplomatic and economic ties with Egypt, fostering cooperation and development between the two nations. The stage is set for deeper collaboration between Sierra Leone and Egypt, opening new avenues for partnerships and shared growth.
