The Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, has unveiled significant changes to its Progression Criteria, impacting new students beginning the academic year 2024.

According to the statement dated January 16, 2024 and signed by Deputy Registrar Brima Bah, the university has implemented a policy stating that there will be no repeating in Year 1, and students will not be allowed to progress to Year 2 with any reference.

The announcement seeks to emphasize the regulations set forth by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor during the Orientation, and Deputy Registrar Brima Bah aims to reiterate these crucial details to all incoming students.

Moreover, the release highlights that students encountering referral in more than two modules will have the opportunity to undertake resit examinations. Those successfully clearing the referred modules will proceed to Year 2.

However, failure to pass the referred modules will result in the withdrawal of the student from both the course and the college. The university is keen on ensuring adherence to these new progression criteria to maintain academic standards and uphold the integrity of the educational system at Fourah Bay College.
