A court in Bo has officially discharged musician Alhaji Amadu Bah, known as King Boss La, and fellow entertainer Prezo Koroma in what legal sources confirm was their final hearing on charges linked to an alleged verbal insult against the Mayor of Kenema.

Reports indicate the case was brought to a close following a formal act of forgiveness from Kenema City Mayor Thomas Karimu Baio. The discharge ends weeks of legal proceedings that began after King Boss La was arrested in connection with remarks made during a March 21 performance at the Bo Shopping Plaza.

In a public statement posted on Facebook, King Boss La expressed profound gratitude to Mayor Baio.

“Your Worship Mayor Thomas Bail, I would like to sincerely express my deepest gratitude for your graciousness and understanding in forgiving me regarding the incident weeks ago in Bo City,” the musician wrote. “Your kindness and magnanimity have truly touched me, and I am genuinely sorry for any hurt my words may have caused.”

He added that the experience had been “a valuable lesson,” and pledged to demonstrate “respect and positivity in all future interactions.”

The case had drawn significant public attention after King Boss La spent more than a month in detention at the Bo Male Correctional Centre. He was granted bail on April 28, 2026, following weeks of legal wrangling under Sierra Leone’s Cyber Security and Crime Act, 2021. Prezo Koroma, arrested alongside the rapper, was also referenced in the court’s final disposition.

Magistrate Samuel James Brima had previously declined to dismiss the charges despite multiple apologies from the musician, including a courtroom plea where King Boss La knelt before Mayor Baio. The magistrate had ruled that an apology “does not override the judicial process.”

With the mayor’s forgiveness and the court’s discharge, the matter is now officially closed.

Representatives for both entertainers have not yet issued further comment.
