British-Sierra Leonean actor, Idris Elba has told the BBC that he plans to relocate to Sierra Leone or Ghana in the next ten years.
The actor also hinted at relocating to Zanzibar, Tanzania.
The actor said his decision will be hinged on his dream to boost Africa’s entertainment with him already owning a film studio in Zanzibar, Tanzania and Accra, Ghana.
“I’m going to live in Accra, I’m going to live in Freetown (Sierra Leone’s capital), I’m going to live in Zanzibar,” the actor told BBC.
He added that he wants to tell African stories with a plan to make a film in his Accra studio in the future.
Born to Sierra Leonean and Ghanaian parents, Elba has long dreamed of telling African stories to global audiences. Although Elba has no film studio in Sierra Leone, he has played a great role in Sierra Leone’s entertainment recently after being featured in Sierra Leonean hip-hop rapper, Drizilik’s Ashobi. Before that, he was also featured together with Nigerian artist, D’banj by Shadow Boxxer in Hmmm.
