The Director General of the National Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NPRA), Brima Baluwa Koroma, says Sierra Leone’s fuel sector has seen improvements since he was appointed by President Julius Maada Bio.

Speaking at the Moyamba Civic Series, where he joined other government officials, Koroma said work has been done to reduce delays in fuel supply and ensure that petroleum products remain available across the country.

He said that since taking office, efforts have been made to make the system more efficient and to improve how the sector responds to challenges. He added that providing the public with clearer information about how the petroleum industry works is part of that progress.

The Moyamba Civic Series gave people the chance to ask questions and get updates on how the fuel sector is being managed and its role in the country’s economy.

Fuel prices in Sierra Leone have remained at NLe 27.30 per liter for petrol since November 2024, according to the Petroleum Regulatory Agency. Other current fuel prices include NLe 27.40 for diesel, NLe 25.87 for kerosene, and NLe 25.55 for fuel oil.
