Two of the country’s brightest young stars, Divine Sylma Thompson and Ziada Sesay, officially departed for Kenya to represent the nation at the prestigious Little Miss Africa continental finals.
The duo, representing the Little Mr and Miss Sierra Leone organisation, were seen at the airport adorned in their official sashes and crowns, ready to showcase the “rich cultural heritage” of the Lion Mountain on the continental stage.
The Little Miss Africa pageant is more than a beauty competition; it is a platform designed to promote African culture, leadership, and confidence among young girls across the continent. For Divine and Ziada, the journey to Kenya is the culmination of months of preparation and local advocacy.

In a rallying call to the nation, the organisers urged Sierra Leoneans at home and in the diaspora to “show up for our own,” stressing that these young delegates are acting as official ambassadors for the country’s values and traditions.
“It is time to support our very own ambassadors. We are wishing them immense success as they carry our flag to Kenya.” Little Mr and Miss Sierra Leone
The finals in Kenya will see contestants from dozens of African nations competing for the coveted crown, with a focus on talent, public speaking, and cultural presentation.
